The Calumet County Board of Supervisors is in discussion regarding options it has available to address the recognized facility needs of the Highway Department in order for the department to effectively and efficiently service roads into the 21st century.
The current facility in Chilton was built in 1936 and is in need of some major repair or replacement. The Calumet County Board has made a decision that the Chilton highway facility will remain on the current property. The Board is looking at two options. The first is a renovation and addition to the 1936 building. The second is a complete demolition of the current facility and the construction of a new facility.
The Calumet County Board has scheduled an informational meeting, where the two options will be presented and residents will have the opportunity to comment on them. The meeting will be held on Wed., Aug. 12, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Calumet County Courthouse, 206 Court St., Chilton, WI in Room 025:
The Calumet County Board is scheduled to vote on which of the two options it will select to address the Chilton highway facility issue at its August 17, 2015 County Board Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
